Jeannot Margier, Yoga teacher, had a career of specialized educator with adolescents in great difficulties, and with heavily handicapped children. Besides, for 25 years, he has been caring for intellectually or mentally deficient adults and created the Society for Adapted Sport in his hometown of Die (in La Drome, Southern French Alps), which is affiliated to the National Society for Adapted Sport in Paris.
Since 2008, he has been working for ageing and handicapped people, with interventions in two elderly homes, one private and the other public in hospital. He does specific yoga sessions on chair. He also collaborates to various Institutes for the handicapped people.
In answer to the demand of Yoga associations and societies for the Handicap, he leads seminar of yoga on chair. Stimulated by the interest for this practice, he created in 2014 the association Surya (Sun in Sanskrit), with the support of the Commission for the Elderly of the Regional Government. This group enables a yoga practice for people from remote area and/or in situation of old age or handicap.
The evolution of this practice made necessary a specific training which he does for the student wanting to become yoga teachers or for confirmed teachers too. In addition to this, Jeannot Margier organizes retreats of Yoga-Nature with singing and trek, near his home in La Drome, where he has been living in harmony with nature for more than thirty years.
